Charlie Thomas opened Charlie's as a classic corner bar in 1944. Today the fourth generation of the Thomas family runs it, with the same corner-bar, "Cheers" feel and a whole lot more.
It is a full restaurant too. Come for the region's most famous wings, or a plate of seafood, prime rib or something southwestern.
The building on Shore Road went up in 1896 and was a store in the early 1900s. Charlie's started across the street on New Jersey Avenue and moved here in 1953. A plaque out front marks the property as part of the Shore Road Historic District.

Graduations, weddings, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, sweet 16s and turning 21. The kitchen prepares food for each party, and catering is available too.
Gift certificates, called Charlie's Bucks, come in $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. Stop in or call to get one.
